Estuarine Restoration Volunteers Needed in Daytona Beach
We are looking for volunteers to help with native marsh grass plantings along the Halifax River during the summer and fall 2006. In these areas we will be transplanting smooth cordgrass from areas of dense, healthy growth, to areas needing vegetation.

We will meet at Sunrise Park-North in Holly Hill (at the end of LPGA Blvd) at 8:00 am for all dates. Please bring sunscreen, a hat, and close-toed shoes you don't mind getting wet (we will be in water sometimes knee-high). Volunteer Opportunity: Any Volusia County FMNP Naturalist interested in adopting a one mile section of Volusia County Beach? If so, contact David Griffis at dgriffis@co.volusia.fl.us or call 386-822-5778.

Guidelines for adoption include an agreement to clean the mile at least four times a year and to adhere to beach regulations. Participants are supplied garbage bags and other cleanup materials, in addition to a beach sign identifying the adopting group.
