Central West Florida Volunteer Opportunities

Saturday 16^th, Rye Preserve, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM – VOLUNTEER EVENT: BIO BLITZ! – Do you know what creeps, crawls, runs, plays, grows, swims, howls, hoots or haunts in your preserve?! How well do you know the plants and animals in your own backyard? Join Manatee County Natural Resources Department staff, scientists, and researchers from New College during our third annual BioBlitz (Biodiversity Blitz) to find out! During the Blitz we will attempt to find and identify as many different species as we can.

Volunteers are needed for 2-3 hour time slots to hunt for specific species (plants, fish, birds, insects, reptiles and more!). Dust off your field guides, break out your binoculars come and help seasoned experts identify the unique wildlife we have right at our doorstep! Master Gardeners and Naturalists we need your help!
