Grassy Waters Preserve ANNOUNCES OPEN COMPETITIVE RECRUITMENT FOR THE UNCLASSIFIED POSITION OF

Recreation Specialist (Parks & Recreation Department) DEFINITION: Under direct supervision, develops and provides quality environmental and outdoor education programs to all age groups, including canoeing, dipnetting, and guided walks. Also promotes public understanding and stewardship of South Florida wetlands, water resources, and the ecosystem. Provides staff presence in nature center and functions as primary visitor contact. Performs related duties as assigned. Flexible schedule may include evenings and weekends. HIRING SALARY: Part-time; $10.33/Hour. QUALIFICATIONS: Eighth grade education, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Minimum age requirement is 16 years old. High school diploma or GED preferred. A valid Florida driver’s license may be required. SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process for this position may consist of any, all or a combination of the following tests: evaluation of training and experience, written examination, structured oral interview or other assessment method.
