Florida Chorus Frog
Pseudacris nigrita verrucosa

Identifiers- upper lip splotched white and black, green to gray body color, elongate spots
- 1.25"
Adaptations- padded toes, tree frog family
Status
- common in some areas, found in central and south Florida
Distribution- Subspecies of Pseudacris nigrita
Habitat- pine woodland ponds, marshes, ditches, wooded ponds
Reproduction- dictated by rain, may reproduce later in south Florida, several hundred eggs laid

Fun facts

genus name comes from the Greek pseudes (false) and akris (locust), for the rasping trill of chorus frogs
