Size- 1-1.5'
Identifiers- perennial herb, basal rosettes, woody stems
- 1" yellow flat topped disc/ray flowers
Adaptations- short wooly hairs, short lived plant
Status
- State/federally Endangered
Distribution- Hillsborough, Hardee, Manatee Counties
Reproduction- wind dispersed by seed
Habitat- Sand pine-oak scrub
Fun facts
- "hairs" on plants discourage animal/insect grazing
- loss of habitat biggest threat to population
