Other Characteristics- black wing tips, red face
Status- throughout Florida
Reproduction- 3-4 light colored eggs, stick nest in colonies
Distribution-Atlantic coast; North Carolina to Florida,
Gulf coast; Florida, Texas
Habitat- swamps, wet prairies, fresh/salt marshes and fields
Diet- crayfish, crabs, shrimp, small snakes and insects
Call- low harsh
Fun facts - other names; Chokoloskee Chicken, Florida Curlew
- may form large v-shaped flocks
