Size- 50-84", 600-1,600 lbs
Identifiers- slate black smooth skin, clawless limbs,
- leather-like carapace with 7 bony ridges
Adaptations
- paddle-like front legs
- spines in through help catch jellyfish
Status
- found in most Florida marine waters
Distribution- Atlantic & Pacific Oceans, Caribbean
Habitat- open seas, estuaries, beaches
Diet- jellyfish
Fun facts
- world's largest turtle

- taken for cosmetic oils, eggs and meat
