Size- 6-8'
Identifiers- velvety silver foliage, yellow flowers on spike
Adaptations- legume; symbiotic relationship with nitrogen-fixing bacteria                     
Status
- native; central to south Florida coastal counties
Distribution- worldwide subtropical and tropical areas
Reproduction- 2-8" seed pods
Habitat- dry upland coastal areas
Host Plant- sulphur butterflies
Fun facts
- flowers attract ruby-throated hummingbirds
- seeds contain toxin, should not be eaten
