Volunteer Opportunities

These links are provided as a source of volunteer opportunities for Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP) students, and as a service to organizations that promote environmental education in Florida.

To list your volunteer opportunity:

Interested organizations that promote science-based environmental education and maintain a website that lists volunteer opportunities along with the appropriate contact information are invited to submit a request to link to this site. The FMNP Program Office withholds the right to refuse requests to link to this website.

If your organization has a volunteer webpage, simply email the link and your request for listing to: info@masternaturalist.org

If your organization does not have a volunteer webpage, FMNP may be able to post your volunteer opportunity to our listserv. Please fill out the Volunteer Opportunity Announcement Form. We may contact you in the future to determine the success of volunteer programs.

Become a FMNP Volunteer Liaison:

The FMNP office and Advisory Board are excited to launch a new program designed to assist FMNP graduates in obtaining volunteer and community science opportunities with agencies and organizations across the State. FMNP is recruiting a volunteer in each county to serve as the "Volunteer Liaison" and function as the principle point of contact within each county for all natural resource entities that have volunteer or community science opportunities on environmental projects.

Any FMNP Graduate is eligible to be a county volunteer liaison if they meet the criteria as described in the guidelines; FMNP Instructors are also eligible if they believe they have the extra time to devote to this volunteer duty.

Please review Guidelines for FMNP County Volunteer Liaison.

All interested applicants must download, fill out, and email the Application Form to a Lead FMNP Instructor that can recommend them for the position (this should be an Instructor who is familiar with you, via a course, chapter, etc.). The recommending instructor will then forward your application to their FMNP Advisory Board Regional Representative for review.

Upon approval, volunteer liaisons must download and submit the Volunteer Agreement for FMNP to the FMNP Program Coordinator.

NEW! Talk Nature With Me

We are excited to announce a new opportunity to share Florida's natural resources with your local community. The 'talk nature with me' program will send Florida Master Naturalists into community spaces such as libraries, coffeehouses, bars, and laundromats, and have casual spontaneous conversations with community members about nature in Florida. We are looking for volunteers who want to help us bring the program to their counties. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate (identify venues, advertise the events, recruit participants) and to serve as the 'naturalists' at the events. If you are interested in helping to bring 'talk nature with me' to your county, please review additional details and inquire at Talk Nature With Me!
