Instructor Training

Each approved FMNP applicant must attend a free 2-hour conference call training to be certified as an Instructor. 
Dr. Martin Main, Program Leader, and Sandy Mickey, Program Coordinator, facilitate the training.
Topics covered include:

  • History of the FMNP
  • Instructor Requirements
  • Overview of the three Modules (Uplands, Freshwater and Coastal)
  • Overview of FMNP Instructor and Student Workbooks
  • Notes and discussion points for PowerPoint presentations and videos
  • Final Project guidelines for students
  • Field trip discussion points
  • Student course evaluations
  • Registration forms, course booking forms, etc. (administrative aspects)
  • Marketing classes
  • Public Speaking Skills
  • Chapters and Future Goals
  • Special Topics classes

Scheduled FMNP Instructor Training

  • New Instructors please fill out the online Instructor Application for consideration
