Instructor Training
Each approved FMNP applicant must attend a free 2-hour conference call training to be
certified as an Instructor.
Dr. Martin Main, Program Leader, and Sandy Mickey, Program Coordinator, facilitate the
training.
Topics covered include:
- History of the FMNP
- Instructor Requirements
- Overview of the three Modules (Uplands, Freshwater and Coastal)
- Overview of FMNP Instructor and Student Workbooks
- Notes and discussion points for PowerPoint presentations and videos
- Final Project guidelines for students
- Field trip discussion points
- Student course evaluations
- Registration forms, course booking forms, etc. (administrative aspects)
- Marketing classes
- Public Speaking Skills
- Chapters and Future Goals
- Special Topics classes
Scheduled FMNP Instructor Training
- New Instructors please fill out the online Instructor Application
for consideration
- Conference call training is offered
frequently. If accepted as an Instructor applicant, a training
